The church was established in the 1980s as Brightlingsea Baptist Church. A lot has changed since then, including our name and some of the faces, but we are still all about Jesus and sharing the gospel, which is the ‘Good News’ of Jesus Christ, with our local community.
In Corinthians 15:1, the Apostle Paul writes:
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
We believe that everyone is precious and unique, and each individual has a special part to play in the life of the church. This is a place where everyone can share and get involved, using whatever gifts and abilities they have been given to serve the church and the wider community and receive the encouragement and empowerment to live the abundant and fulfilling life that God intends for them.
We are members of the Baptist Union.
